On special occasions, like Tres’ birthday, I get to babysit the grandbabies. Since I don’t live in Austin, it’s always a surprise how big they are when I come to visit. They grow and develop so quickly while I’m away. Ivy (now 2 1/2) has her own breakfast table now; she’s outgrown the high chair. Every weekday morning, while she eats breakfast, her mom brushes her hair and makes her beautiful for a half-day at school. So far she seems to want to go, no complaints. Of course, this will change about the time homework rears its ugly head:)
Hazel (now 1) still gets to lounge around the house with Mamou (that’s me) and Maui (her overprotective dog mother). Hazel, Maui and I watch lots of Einstein DVDs together in the “baby play room” Laura designed. Love that they have a special room full of blackboards, chalk, crayons, books, and toys. They seem to love it too. As you can see, I caught Hazel hiding behind a bench reading herself a story. They grow too fast.
