CHRISTMAS WITH MOMMA RITA / AKA MAMOU:)

This holiday was filled with family blessings, too many to count, and certainly too many not to share.  Tres, Laura and the grand-angels joined Matt, Ika and I for some quality beach time.  There was the day at Pleasure Pier, where Mamou discovered that Hazel is not only the most fearless two-year old ever, but even loves the scariest rides she’s allowed on.  Of course there were tears when the adults, worn down to a frazzle, had to call it quits.  Promises of beach walks for shells and swimming in the heated pool did bring reluctant smiles.  Santa really did come with gifts for the grands when we visited Grandma & Grandpa in Beaumont the next day.  As if we weren’t worn completely out at that point, we made it back to Galveston just in time for the Festival of Lights and this year’s amazing Iceland at Moody Gardens.  A team of Chinese ice sculptors did some amazing art work to create a tropical paradise in ice.  The ice-submarine was the favorite, closely followed by the ice-slide.  After all this celebrating, Mamou is now crashed on the couch since everyone left for home.  Gazing over the tree and deco that needs to be put away I’m thinking, maybe tomorrow:)
